NCL's Norwegian Crown
August, 2005

By Evan Liaskos

Dear Diana,

I wanted to reply to your email about my experience with NCL and the Norwegian crown and my cruise to Bermuda. As far as the ship goes, NCL keeps all of their ships VERY clean and well maintained. I liked this ship because it was on the smaller side and it felt much more intimate and like a large yacht instead of like a floating hotel. I liked that there were NOT 3,000 other people right next to you at all times.

The food was the only thing that disappointed me with the cruise. This was my second experience with NCL and I have to say it because as you know I cook for a living, and I appreciate great (or even really good) food. Most of this food was only mediocre.

The casino, on the other hand, was the most enjoyable gaming experience I have ever enjoyed. The dealers and hosts were so friendly and their service was amazing. Overall service on the ship was fair, but not amazing. I could relate it to a good land based hotel, but not even close to the service I had experienced on past cruises with other companies. The ports were nice. I enjoyed seeing three different ports during the course of out stay in Bermuda as opposed to just one or two.

Bermuda is a great island to relax on and if that is someone's goal, then that is the perfect island. If they are looking for a crazy party life, wild bars, etc, this is not the island for them. This is a great relaxing vacation for a limited budget. Another important factor by the way is to make sure that you do not get an inside cabin. I had an ocean view and would never go less than that. I hope this gives you some good insight.

Sincerely,

Evan

PS. - thank you for the bottle of wine, I had forgotten to say thanks when I saw you.
