Sandals Resorts are deluxe couples-only vacation and wedding destinations in the Caribbean. Randy and Serena were celebrating their 10 anniversary, which the hotel was notified of in advance, but somehow neglected to recognize during their stay.
Everything was great. We got the room with a balcony and a wonderful view. The whole trip was great. They surprisingly didn't do anything special for our Anniversary but it certainly didn't ruin our stay. To answer your specific questions:
-Changing planes in San Juan wasn't all that bad. I do recommend flying into Castries airport because of its close proximity to all three Sandals resorts. We heard that other couples had a bus ride of over an hour.
-The room was nice, nothing special just nice and clean. We didn't get a patio as we wanted. We were placed on the second floor with a balcony and a great view which we might not have had if we were on the ground floor.
-Six nights was great, seven would have been perfect.
-We've never had a problem using our birth certificates and this trip was no exception.
-The hotel was fantastic, we did however have a few complaints. 1) Beach towels were a major problem. If you weren't out waiting for beach towels at exactly 8 am, you went the remainder of the day without. 2) The wait time at the main pool bar was rather long. The other bars were fine. 3) On our first full day they closed the beach and the main pool until 3pm to take photos to update their brochures. This actually wasn't that bad because it gave us some incentive to go and visit The Grande.
-The food was the best that we've had at any of the other Sandals resorts that we've been to.
All and all it was a spectacular vacation and we look forward to going back. I'm sorry that we didn't get to visit any of the other hotels. We meant to get out more often but we didn't.
Thank you for everything.
-Randy and Serena
